Popular everywhere in the world

Rice has its origins in the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, where it was cultivated as a monoculture during the 4th millennia B.C. It spread gradually around the world to: China, India, Persia, North Africa and eventually America and Europe. A tufted root plant, rice can grow up to 1.8 metres in height and is still traditionally cultivated on terraced fields. As soon as the rice has reached the so-called “yellow” stage of ripeness, it is harvested by hand or by machine.

Protection for sensitive skin

Gentle care and protection against external influences: In addition to being the most commonly cultivated tropical cereal, rice is also used for skin care. The grains contain starch, proteins and vitamin B1.

Its natural nurturing properties make rice extract a valuable ingredient in cosmetic skin preparations. Since rice starch is an absorbent, its extracts are particularly suitable for use in body care, as they can absorb sweat or odours when used in deodorants, for example.
